Holiday safety tips

As we head into the holiday season, we want to make sure you are avoiding pitfalls of cyber crime that can be more common during the holidays with the extra shopping and so many more distractions!

When you fly do not use the USB charging ports at the airport. You can plug into an outlet using a charger, but do not plug directly into a USB port.
Shop Smart and Secure: Use only reputable websites that you know and trust. Type the URL directly into your browser instead of clicking on links in emails or ads, especially for unfamiliar retailers.
Verify Unfamiliar Retailers: Some cyber attackers may try to trick consumers by creating malicious websites that appear to be legitimate. For unfamiliar retailers, review customer feedback and verify the legitimacy of contact information, such as a physical address and support number. Always verify the legitimacy before supplying your information.
Keep an eye on your bank and credit card statements to make sure there’s no suspicious activity.
